Obama said the following during his U.N. Speech on Sept. 23, 2009:
“We continue to emphasize that America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements.”
Translation: Obama wants to uproot 650,000 Jews from their homes in East Jerusalem, Jerusalem suburbs and the tiny area of the West Bank (3%) in which Jewish cities and towns are located.
“The goal is clear: . . . a viable independent Palestinian state with contiguous territory that ends the occupation that began in 1967, and realizes the potential of the Palestinian people.”
Translation: A “contiguous” Palestinian state means that Israel would be cut in half in order to connect Gaza and the West Bank. Obama is also demanding that Israel must return to 1967 borders which would be almost impossible to defend against today’s weaponry. This would uproot hundreds of thousands of Israelis from their homes and destroy Israel. Obama’s use of the word “occupation” also delegitimizes Israel.
“The time has come to re-launch negotiations without preconditions that address the permanent status issues: security for Israelis and Palestinians, borders, refugees and Jerusalem.”
Translation: Obama is pushing Israel to give much of Jerusalem to the Palestinians for their state, and wants Israel to allow millions of self-styled Palestinian “refugees” to “return” to overrunIsrael. (There were actually only a few hundred thousand Arabs living in Israel – and they left Israel on their own when Arab neighbors advised them to leave in 1948, so that they could march back into Israel after all the Jews were killed. More Jews fled from Arab countries to Israel than vice versa.)
“We will also pursue peace between . . . Israel and Syria. . . . In pursuit of that goal, we will develop regional initiatives with multilateral participation, alongside bilateral negotiations.”
Translation: Obama will use every possible method and nation to push Israel to give up the strategically essential Golan Heights. The 18,000 Jews now living in the Golan would be homeless and Israel’s northern border would be almost impossible to defend against today’s weapons.
“The United States does Israel no favors when we fail to couple an unwavering commitment to its security with an insistence that Israel respect the legitimate claims and rights of the Palestinians.”
Translation: U.S. “support” for Israel is conditional on Israel giving in to every Palestinian demand. Since the Palestinians demand all of Israel, this really means no U.S. support for Israel. Obama legitimizes Palestinian “rights”, but refuses to acknowledge Israel’s legitimacy, the Jewish religious, historical and national right to Israel, the right to the Jewish homeland in Israel confirmed by international law (including the Balfour declaration and the 1920 San Remo resolution), and the facts that Jews purchased the land from absentee Turkish owners (and did not steal it from Palestinian Arabs) and that there are Jews who have lived in Israel for the past 2,000 years despite all the expulsions.
Note: In 2008, Congressman Gary Ackerman told Jews in our community to vote for Obama and that Obama would be good for Jews and Israel – while Liz Berney warned that Obama would be terrible for Jews and Israel and America. Ackerman continues to support Obama’s positions. Like Obama, Ackerman is against Israeli settlements.
In the coming year, please oppose Obama’s demands to put Israel on the chopping block. And let’s work to vote all of Obama’s supporters out of office!!!! Shana Tova!!
